Problems

 The final product of the laboratory is the report, and most of the analysis results in all the reports come from the various analysis departments of the laboratory (and possibly from the subcontracting laboratory), and some of them may come from the sampling site analysis. Usually the analysts in the laboratory are the largest user group of the entire LIMS system. Solving their problems and meeting their needs is the key to the success of a LIMS project. In the experience of implementing LIMS for many years, the deepest experience is that users usually adhere to their many years of habits and proud processes and operations, and always require LIMS suppliers to fully meet their needs. The clients resist changes.

Our research and development speed always lags behind the speed at which users can make new demands. We always think that our processes, modules and templates are very logical and standard, so they should be very general. In fact, this is not the case at all. Almost every different laboratory, even a laboratory under the same direct industry system, has their own personal characteristics, especially the results entry mode and the report that sends the results. Differences in reporting format and display information can not only lead to new developments in report templates, but also the ability to change database tables to supplement missing fields, modify or even develop new result entry templates.

Solutions

 SDMS (Smart Data Management System), the intelligent data management system came into being to solve the above problems. As a core intelligent module tool, it has been seamlessly integrated with the branded product BTLIMS. At present, LDM (Lab Data Master), a standalone brand product with SDMS as its core technology, has also been developed as a new product.

SDSM has the following features:

1. Dynamically create database tables

The database tables can be self-contained, classified according to industry nature or elements, and users can create fields and reticle fields for sample analysis. When creating a result entry template and report template, you can dynamically add fields as needed.

2. Template application classification

The creation of templates can be divided into indoor and outdoor depending on the application. The indoor type is used for laboratory routine analysis results entry; the outdoor type is used for on-site sampling and measurement data entry.

3. Results entry template

Different types of result entry templates can be created according to user requirements, the data source is defined in association with the library table, and the calculation formula is set. Each template is granted a unique identification number and is bound to the analysis method and parameters.

4. Create a report template

SDMS has its own independent report template designer. Each result entry template can add a matching report template. Templates can be created using three techniques, Excel, Word and DEV, and a template can create multiple report templates, such as results reports, quality control reports, and reticle reports.

5. Instrument data import function

SDMS has its own independent instrument data import engine, which can not only import simple Excel form results, but also import large-scale instrument analysis results of various well-known brands.

6. Quality control

The SDMS can set the quality control sample type, including blank, precision, accuracy, or uncertainty, as required by each analytical method. Calculation formulas and control limits can be written into the formula.

7. Analysis batch (quality control batch)

When the analyst uses SDSM, it is not necessary to manually create a quality control batch before entering the data. The system automatically generates a unique analysis batch (Analytical Batch) after completing the result entry.  The a special quality control batch interface stores all quality control results in batches for inquiry.

8. Sample sequence

The SDSM is able to set the frequency and type of quality control for the sample run for each entry template. After taking out the sample to be analyzed, the system automatically generates a complete run sequence with quality control types.

9. Data review

SDMS has a sound three-level data review process, which can be approved in batches in real time or in batches. Once you find a problem, you can roll the result back into the result entry pending completion mode with one click.
